Nebraska License Changes
Mortgage License changes will occur in Nebraska very soon. Starting January 2nd, 2008 all branches that originate mortgage loans in Nebraska will be required to be licensed. Branch licensing will cost $75 per branch. Nebraska will also be handling license renewals through the new Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Planned to start in January 2008, everyone renewing their license in Nebraska and 11 other states will have to log in to the NMLS. Apparently the plan is to have as many states as possible handle their mortgage license initial application, license renewals, and ammendments through the automated system.For more details on the Nebraska Legislation adding branch licensing see: Nebraska Legislation Update
