Florida Mortgage Licensing
In Florida, a mortgage broker license applicant needs a principal broker and a mortgage lender or correspondent mortgage lender license applicant needs a principal representative. Florida requires that one person from your mortgage company take a test and 24 hour live education course. The Florida Mortgage Broker test was only offered in the state of Florida prior to January 2009. However, Florida recently contracted with a nationwide testing company, PearsonVue, to adminster its test. Prior to completing the test, you have to complete a 24 hour live education course that is mostly offered in Florida, but can be found occasionally in other states. If you want to get licensed in Florida, plan on taking a few days off to take the 3 day live course and to pass the mortgage broker test.Mortgage Servicer Licensing
